This is another crock pot meal, but this is the time of year for crock pot meals. I love crock pot meals because you just throw your ingredients in and forget about it for 8 hours. This is a very simple recipe for chili beans but full of flavor and so delicious.
~ 1-1/2 cups of beans of your choice ( I use pinto, but you can use kidney or whatever you like)
~ 1-1/2 pounds of hamburger meat
~ 3 cans of tomato soup
~ 2-3 cans of water
~ 1 Tbsp. of chili powder
~ 1 tsp. of salt
~ 1/2 tsp. of pepper
~ Soak beans in water overnight or for at least 8 hours. This step you can skip, but you should soak them for at least 30 minutes to an hour before cooking.
~ Brown hamburger meat and drain.
~ Rinse beans and pick out any bad ones you see.
~ Place all of your ingredients in your crock pot and stir them really good. You can use a crock pot liner if you like for easy cleanup.
~ Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
~ Serve with cornbread or whatever sides you may prefer.
